Accelerated social networking: Good or bad?

SMC Question of the Week: Is the accelerated use of Social Media for networking changing our society for the better or worse?

And then we’ve heard, or experienced, those slightly discomfiting tales about ‘friends of friends’ who followed or friended or LinkedIn to a network…and became mini nightmares: overzealous Twitter streams that clog the feed, or over-persistent tenuously connected job applicants who sour the original connection. It led the Social Media Club Editorial board to ponder whether our hyper-linked society was helping or hindering society. What do you think?
